Vergil vs. Hulk

Round Two: Vergil vs. Bruce Banner (a.k.a Hulk)
The one to defeat the Incredible Hulk is none other than one of my antagonists of all times from Devil May Cry 3, Vergil.

There's more to fighting that pure strength, maybe if the Hulk wasn't so hellbent on smashing things he could have figured this out and prolong his death.

Pardon my different colour/shading styles in each character. This was done over a week or so in which I've been experimenting different styles of colour and shading and they were both done differently so it looks a little bit out of place.

Anyway, the second of the set; you may remember seeing the first here and I must say it's a nice improvement since then, but with that said I still don't like it. There will be four more battles coming up so I hope that they'll continue to progress better and better.

Design Your Universe

I'm back into Illustration Friday and vector art and the topic of the week is "Space".

It was quite interesting how I got the idea of this, at first it was just an image of a woman staring up into space but while working on this, I was listening to a band called Epica and the song Design Your Universe.

I don't want to say too much about this one so I'll leave it at this for your own interpretation.

But on a more fun sidenote: how many creatures can you find on the frame? (You may need to zoom in on the full-resolution image to find them all.)

Ambrosine Prototype

She's not human, but no one has to know.

I've neglected so many weeks of interesting topics from Illustration Friday lately but now it's time for me to kick back into gear with this week's topic "Secret".

No one has to know but if you want to know anyway, she's an android.
(As if it wasn't obvious enough, eh? Silky purple hair, pink skin, encased in a segmented bubble of text and supercharged by invisible cables).

An android designed to live forever; but as fate would have it Ambrosine's design was flawed due to an unexpected error leaving her bound to living in a confined space where she must constantly have her body powered by multiple cables as her maximum energy storage capacity is very low.

I used a similar style to my previous entry with my "Monarchy" upload but this is a little more detail and going into Nouveau a little bit. I think it turned out quite well.

Sketch Express Title Screen

So I've decided to make a simple platform game where the graphics will be classically animated and this is a concept of how I might present my title screen.

The character is also just in the concepts and development stage so there might (and most likely will) have some changes.

So without going to deep about the game, I plan on making it fairly straight forward without many or complicated controls. Basically have a character run around and explore the sketchy world I design for it really; it's more like an interactive showcase of backgrounds and simple-cycled character animations.

Albert Wesker vs. Hawkeye

There has been a huge amount of Avengers fanart since the release of the movie. I thought it was good and enjoyed the majority of the film, but it is a bit cliche and highly overrated.

Having played the game Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 I decided to have the Avengers meet their match in the hands of several Capcom characters. The style is also inspired by the UMvC3 artwork.

Round One: Albert Wesker vs. Clint Barton (a.k.a Hawkeye/Ronin)
I'm basing off the Marvel characters from the people that played their respective character's roles in the movie rather than the original comic design. So this Hawkeye is meant to be Jeremy Renner.

Coloured version has a lot of fix ups from the two below but still seems pretty messy to me. Highly disappointed with this but hopefully this first one will be the worst one.

Arnold Nime

First dialogue scene of the year of "Arnold Nime", a typical nerd/geek looking character saying "Seriously? Hahahahahaha". Completed with one day less than usual due to public holiday. Having to listen to the dialogue almost more than my favourite songs, it can get really irritating but satisfying when done correctly.

There are still plenty of inbetweens that I can and need to add to make flow even more smoothly but for now, this linetest is sufficient to see the main movements and lip-synch.

The voice has been edited because I've heard enough of the original and it's getting to the point of irritation that I had to change it somehow; besides in my honest opinion, I think the original voice was too deep for such a thin and nerdy character anyway.

A little bit of Maya animation of Peggy doing even more walk cycles. Watch it on repeat to see the it clearer.
The left walk has more bounce and sway; whereas the right walk cycle is more casual.

Happy Birthday Fee!

Here's a higher resolution version for you in case you were trying to decipher what the book says on the tiny print out. I wasn't too sure what to make and I ended up with this. It isn't much but I hope you like the return of the E-Bear, and his group.

It's a bit of a cliche quote and I'm but the form of display can make up for a bit of unoriginality.
Wishing you a Happy Birthday ~ May your day be as special as you are!
